Our Story

We are Farraige! That means “The Sea” in Gaeilge (Irish gaelic).

We perform lively Celtic and Maritime tunes and love to involve our listeners!

Our group consists of Keith Facey (vocals and bouzouki) and Mike Burley on guitar and bass as well as whistle player extraordinaire Marilyn Inch!

KEITH FACEY

Bouzouki and banjo

Keith was born in London, England and came to Canada at a very early age. Originally trained in classical violin, he started playing mandolin and learning world music. He sings and plays the Celtic Bouzouki and Banjo.

MIKE BURLEY

Guitar, Bass

Mike has performed with several esteemed groups in Eastern Canada, and has opened for such stars as Creedence Clearwater Revival and Randy Bachman. His technical wizardry with guitar and bass creates the unique sound signature that Farraige is recognized for.

Marilyn Inch

Even though Marilyn started her musical career as Bassoonist in the Newfoundland Symphony, it wasn’t long before the traditional music of Newfoundland and Ireland stole her heart! With her mastery of the Irish Whistle, she has since shared her new love of trad music with audiences around North America in the form of concerts, leading whistle workshops and on recordings for both herself and other artists. You can currently hear Marilyn weekly at the Trad Seisiún at the Cask and Kettle in Saint John but she is most pleased to be heard around the Maritimes on stage with Farraige!
